Fox Fleshing

The material you will need before you flesh; you will need saw dust, a fleshing knife, fleshing board, old cloths, sharp pointed pocketknife, and some stretchers wire/wood.
Before fleshing the fox your going to skin the fox first. After doing that, you put saw dust inside the pelt to stop the oil from ruining the fur. Then turn the pelt inside out. Before you actually start fleshing, you’ll have to put the pelt on the fleshing board. Take the fleshing knife and gently with a good angle witch is about sixty-five degree angle, then stroke it. Then gently go down and constantly take the fat off, with out cutting the pelt.
After each stroke of taking the fat off, put saw dust on it so the fat oil won’t go on the fur. After taken the fat off the whole skin, there are cartilages on the ears you need to take off so the ears won’t rot. Then put the fox on the stretcher to dry you’ll have to take a stretcher. Let it dry for eight hours and then turn the pelt inside out for another eight hours. Take off the pelt and get the fox comb to take off the dry blood. Your ready to do whatever you want to do with the pelt.
